George Michaels Founder
In less than five years, George Michaels has grown G2 from a two-person company with a handful of clients to a firm with more than 30 full-time employees, over 30 clients and a suite of software products. Prior to founding G2, Mr. Michaels was Chief Technology Officer at Carlson Capital, LP. At Goldman Sachs, he was Vice President responsible for Energy Risk Management. While at Tudor Investments, Mr. Michaels was responsible for Fixed Income Risk Management. At Morgan Stanley, he worked as an analyst in equity derivatives and managed the equity decision support group.
Mr. Michaels holds a BA from Carnegie Mellon University and an MS from Columbia University. At Columbia, he was awarded a research fellowship at the Center for Telecommunications Research.
Ruban Selvakumar West Coast and International Team Leader
At G2, Ruban Selvakumar manages Geneva implementations and reporting efforts at financial companies ranging from $25M family offices to $40B global investment management firms. He also manages and develops solutions, such as a convertible bond pricing model, a life insurance policy pricing model, data warehouses, and a risk platform. Prior to joining G2, Mr. Selvakumar was a Vice President in the Financial Strategies team at Countrywide Financial Corporation. Over several years at Carlson Capital LP, Mr. Selvakumar progressed through the roles of software developer, statistical arbitrage equity trader, and, finally, head of the Quantitative Research Team. Mr. Selvakumar began his consulting career working with Trilogy and has software development and project management experience at Microsoft, Motorola, and Strategic Forecasting.
Mr. Selvakumar holds a BS in Computer Science from the College of Engineering at Cornell University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Herman Weintraub New York Team Leader
Herman Weintraub manages projects for G2's clients, including both large institutional investors and multi-billion dollar hedge funds. Mr. Weintraub acts as a senior analyst and designs complex solutions for large-scale projects. He joined G2 from MarketAxess, where he worked as a Project Manager and Lead Analyst. Mr. Weintraub developed comprehensive business models along with strategic and tactical plans for entry into the US Treasury Trading market. He also designed the industry-standard fee model in the multi-dealer fixed income electronic trading market.
Mr. Weintraub received a BS from Yale University in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the Stern School of Business (Langone part-time program), New York University.
Horace Henderson Boston Team Leader
Horace Henderson manages all the engineers in the Boston area, and also does project management and software development for G2. He joined G2 from Numeric Investors, LLC where he was Chief Technology Officer and Partner. Before Numeric, he was a Partner at the MacGregor Group, Director of Consulting Services. Mr. Henderson also worked at Putnam Investments Colonial Management, where he was responsible for the Fixed Income Trading System.
Mr. Henderson holds an MBA in CIS Policy from Bentley College and a Business Management degree from Chaminade University in Honolulu, HI.
Brian Roberti Head of Sales and Marketing
Brian Roberti has held sales leadership positions at several financial technology firms offering automated trading platforms and services. He successfully grew the sales team at EdgeTrade – an agency-only broker and provider of electronic trading and execution services and helped the firm achieve its aggressive revenue growth targets and exit strategy. Prior to that, he worked for 10 years at Advent Software, a leading provider of investment management software, where he served in a number of market-facing management positions spanning Sales Director and VP Strategic Partnerships. Earlier in his career, Brian served in IBM's Wall Street practice, where he managed global account teams servicing large sell-side institutions.
Mr. Roberti holds a BS in Mathematics from the State University of New York in Albany and NASD/FINRA Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses.
Michael Rodriguez Head of Accounting and Operations Solutions
Michael Rodriguez is in charge of the operations/accounting-related data migration portion of implementations and conversions. He also provides clients with solutions that address workflow and complex investment-processing issues. Mr. Rodriguez joined G2 from HighRoad Fund Services LLC, a consulting firm he co-founded that provided functional and system integration solutions to investment managers. Previously, he was a Senior Vice President at Investors Bank (now part of State Street Corporation) responsible for leading the execution of the bank's global alternative investment strategic initiatives. Mr. Rodriguez held senior management and executive-level positions in operations and technology at several financial services firms, including BISYS Alternative Investment Services (BAIS), Hemisphere Financial Services, and Investors Bank.
Mr. Rodriguez holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Norman Nunley Director of Technology
Mr. Nunley has over 15 years of domestic and international experience in software engineering. From 2005-2007, he was a Senior Business Frameworks Developer at Fotango, Ltd., a Canon subsidiary based in London. As a Senior Systems Architect at Peak Strategy from 2001-2005, he developed the core of a financial back-test engine used by quantitative asset managers. During his three years at Ripple Effects Technology, he assisted clients such as the Coca-Cola Company and the state of Pennsylvania, and built technology tools used by large international banks at SEEC, Inc. Prior to that, he focused on Reuters and NYSE data-feed technology and warehousing for Atlas Online.
Mr. Nunley studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Lawrence University, with a focus on machine learning. He also has led technology training sessions at the O’Reilly Open Source Convention for two years.
